Four people have been taken to Waikato Hospital after a serious crash at the intersection of Wairakei Drive and Huka Falls Road in Wairakei near Taupō.

Police were called to a crash involving two cars at 5.02pm.
Two people received serious injuries and two others received moderate injuries.
Wairakei Drive is closed and diversions are in place.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
