One man is in a serious condition in Auckland Hospital after a stabbing in the suburb of Hillcrest this morning.

The police were called to the address just before 2am, following reports of two men fighting.
One of the men received stab wounds to his chest and was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He remains in a serious but stable condition.
The police say the other man was also injured but he has now been released from hospital.
He is now being interviewed. The two men know each other.
