Burglars in Murupara used a front end loader to ram into a building to steal an ATM early this morning.
The police say the offenders damaged the building, on Pine Drive in the Bay of Plenty town, before fleeing, towing the ATM on a trailer.
The machine was found intact and abandoned shortly before 4am in the Kaingaroa Forest. The significantly damaged trailer was also left there.
The police are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
