A fire has broke out in a Golden Bay cafe early this morning.

A call alerted fire crews to the fire at The Farewell Spit Cafe in Puponga at the base of Farewell Spit about 4.25am.
They said they arrived to find the building well alight and began fighting the fire, and managed to contain it within three hours.
The cause will be investigated later today but the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
No one has been reported injured.
