Three people have been injured in a stabbing in Hamilton early on Christmas morning.

The police say the were called to an altercation between a group of people in Ulster Street about 2am.
They say one person was seriously injured and taken to Waikato Hospital.
Two others received minor injuries.
A guard is at the scene of the incident while an examination takes place and police are continuing to make inquiries.
