One person has died following an incident on Auckland's Southern Motorway this morning.

Inspector Daniel Meade says the incident happened near the Hill Road onramp before 9am and the person was found dead at the scene.
The northbound lanes between Takanini and Hill Road are currently closed.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays with diversions in place.
