One person has died after a crash on State Highway 3 between New Plymouth and Waitara.

Police were notified of the crash on Devon Road near Brixton about 11.35am.
A second person received serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
The road remains closed and the investigation into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
