Police have prosecuted eight people, impounded seven cars and issued nearly 300 infringement notices in connection with a funeral procession on Auckland's North Shore last month.

More than 100 motorbikes and 150 other vehicles took part in the procession on 7 November, prompting dozens of complaints of reckless and dangerous driving.
Participants were reportedly driving on the side of the road, blocking intersections, overtaking other cars dangerously and doing skids near pedestrians.
Some passengers were reported to be sitting outside car windows.
Police said they continued to identify the individuals involved, including reviewing footage of the procession.

Another nine cars identified as being involved in serious driving offences were being searched for.
Eight people are appearing in court in relation to driving offences.
Waitematā East acting area commander inspector Simon Walker said police would continue to investigate, prosecute drivers involved, as well as find and impound the remaining vehicles.
"Many of the drivers in this procession presented a very real risk not only to their own safety and their passengers, but also to other road users and our wider community.
"This type of behaviour on our roads will not be tolerated by police and our community."
