Police are calling for witnesses to a fatal crash on State Highway 3 south of Whanganui this morning.
The collision, involving a truck and a motorcycle, happened in Whangaehu just before 5.20am. In an update before midday, police said the motorcyclist died.
They want to speak to the occupants of two vehicles believed to have been following the motorbike who may have seen the crash.
Anyone who saw a motorcyclist or a logging truck with an empty trailer between Turakina and Whanganui early today between 5am and 5.15am should contact police.
