Manslaughter charge laid over man's death outside Te Papa

A 28-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter over the death of a man who was assaulted outside Te Papa in Wellington.

Simon Strickland, who was 58, died in hospital in February, days after being punched in the head.

Appearing in the Wellington District Court, the accused was granted name suppression until his next appearance, in April.

He was already facing a charge of intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
