One person has died in a house fire at a property in Taemaro Bay, Far North last night.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire on Taemaro Road about 10.30pm yesterday.
In a statement today, police confirmed a 72-year-old woman, who was the only occupant of the home, died.
Police are working to establish the circumstances around her death, but it is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
A scene examination is being carried out along with Fire and Emergency investigators.
A post-mortem is expected be carried out today.
