A senior member of the Mongols motorcycle gang has been arrested in Canterbury after a year long hunt.

Police also seized a banned military-style semi-automatic firearm from the house in Waipara.
They said the 27 year old is wanted for serious drug-dealing, firearms and money-laundering allegations.
Arrest warrants for the man were first issued in May last year.
He will be appearing in the Christchurch District Court later today.
