The 42-year-old is facing four charges of attempted murder in the central city Countdown store on 10 May.

He appeared this morning via audio-visual link from prison and did not speak.

Justice Mander allowed interim name suppression to continue and noted a psychiatric report was being completed.

The man was remanded in custody without plea and will appear in court again later this month.
