Police have launched an investigation after a five-year-old Tauranga boy died in a hospital this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Rawlinson said the death was being treated as suspicious and a post mortem was underway.
Emergency services were initially called to the Te Puna property in the Bay of Plenty on 1 November after the boy was found with injuries.
He was treated in Tauranga Hospital before being airlifted to Starship Children's Hospital.
Rawlinson said a further update would be available following the post mortem.
