A paraglider is a critical condition in Dunedin Hospital after crashing near Wānaka this afternoon.

A witness saw the paraglider in trouble at Treble Cone shortly before 1pm, police said.
He crashed near Pyramid Peak, about 150 metres down a cliff face.
The man was winched to safety by the Otago Rescue Helicopter, with assistance from Fire and Emergency and Alpine Cliff Rescue.
