A teenager has died after being hit by a vehicle in Omaha, north of Auckland, and a person died following a crash in New Plymouth.

Emergency services were called to Omaha Drive, in the small beach community east of Warkworth, at about 4am this morning, where they found the boy's body.
In a statement, police said the driver knew the teen, and is being questioned by serious crash investigators.
In a separate update, police said a person died following a crash at 5am this morning in New Plymouth.
A car hit a parked car at the intersection of St Aubyn Street and Calvert Road in Lynmouth.
The road is still closed.
