Water tankers have left four south Wellington suburbs now that the mains supply has been restored.

A pipe broke on Friday morning at the Brooklyn Reservoir, cutting the supply to Brooklyn, Mornington, Vogeltown and Kingston for a day and a-half.
Late last night, the capital's chief drinking water adviser, Laurence Edwards, said Wellington Water staff had repaired the pipe, refilled the reservoir and flushed the network.
He said people should run a cold tap for a few minutes to clear any air pockets or cloudy water before using hot taps, dishwashers and washing machines.
Wellington's water network suffered multiple faults last year ranging from burst water mains in Karori and Aro Valley to a burst wastewater pipe in the central city.
In 2019, a sewage and wastewater pipe that served the whole city broke leading to sewage and wastewater pouring into Wellington Harbour.
