A 6-year-old who went missing in Christchurch this afternoon has been found safe.

The boy was found safe and well this evening.
He had been last seen headed to the BMX track near Bexley Road at 3.30pm, police said.
He was wearing a black T-shirt with a Toyota print, brown pants and green shoes, with his green bike.
Police said they thanked people who reported sightings of the boy.
