More than 100 infringement notices were given and seven motorcycles confiscated during a police operation monitoring Auckland gang activity today.

Police said they had set up checkpoints around the event in Mount Wellington and North Auckland, reportedly celebrating a Head Hunters gang anniversary.
Police said they stopped and checked every motorcycle in the convoy.
"As a result of police intervention several bikes have been impounded for a variety of offenses," they said in a statement, including driving while disqualified or suspended.
Around 100 infringement notices were issued, with another 20 expected.
"I hope the community can see that our presence here today shows that police do not tolerate gangs attempting to dominate our roads," Area Commander for East Auckland Inspector Jim Wilson said in a statement.
Police encouraged people to report any unsafe, dangerous or intimidating behaviour.
Wilson said multiple reports were received regarding today's ride from the public.
"Gang activity of this nature is unsettling for motorists, and it is unacceptable for groups to conduct themselves in a way that intimidates the community."
