Firefighters have used a helicopter to help put out a scrub fire on the outskirts of Oamaru in North Otago.
Fire and Emergency said in a statement that a gorse burn-off got out of control and jumped into grass along Redcastle Road late this morning.
Four crews are still at the scene checking for any hot spots.
