More thunderstorms heading along the coast have brought lightning, strong wind, downpours and some power cuts.

The red severe thunderstorm warning has been lifted for the Wellington and Kāpiti Coast area, but a lot of thunderstorms were affecting western parts of the country, MetService forecaster Peter Little said.
There were two main bands of thunderstorms moving across the country, one moving up to Waikato.
"There is a chance there could be severe thunderstorms from around about Waikato southwards," he said.
Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO) regional manager Jeremy Holmes said power cuts had affected about 100 houses on the Kāpiti Coast and there was some "minor inundation" and debris on the road.
Some risk remained after high tide, so he was still encouraging people to stay away from the coastal area.
In the South Island, snow closed State Highway 73, Springfield to Arthur's Pass, in Canterbury.
The road into Milford Sound was closed from East Gate to West Gate because heavy snow was forecast.
