Firefighters put out a suspicious house fire in Christchurch this afternoon.
Fire and Emergency said crews called to a Wainui Street address in the suburb of Riccarton just after 2.30pm.
Two crews found a bedroom ablaze and were able to quickly bring it under control.
No one was home at the time and the fire is being treated as suspicious because the house is believed to be unoccupied, a spokesperson said.
