Detours are in place around part of State Highway 29 in Waikato following a serious crash.
Police said they were alerted to the incident involving a car and a truck shortly after 1pm.
Motorists are asked to avoid SH29 near Karapiro or to take an alternative route.
Waka Kotahi said SH29 was closed between Piarere on SH1 and the intersection with Totman Road, with detours in place.
