UB40 concert goers in Nelson will be toasting a glass of red red wine tonight, unless they're under 18.

Organisers Trademark Live took to social media just hours before opening, barring minors for entry after a liquor licensing snag.

Posting on promoter Neptune Entertainment's social media page, they said the event would be made R18.

"Unfortunately, there has been an oversight with our liquor licence application that has only been identified today," they wrote.

"We regret to inform you that the event will now be R18 - all attendees must be 18 years old and over."

Trademark Live was offering a full refund to those with child tickets, and these would be processed automatically. Adults would only be eligible for a refund if their tickets were ordered with child tickets.

"We are truly sorry for this oversight."

UB40 were forced to cancel their Tauranga concert due to bad weather, with a number of other events forced to cancel due to the adverse weather hitting the country and due to various other reasons.
