One person has died after a crash between a motorbike and a car in the Waitomo District, in Waikato.
Police said the crash happened on State Highway 3 at Piopio, between Tui Street and Hunt Road.
Emergency Services responded after the collision was reported, at about 5.10pm on Sunday.
Diversions were in place.
As 2022 came to a close, the Ministry of Transport's road toll count reached a provisional figure of 378 people killed on New Zealand roads during the year.
