The man who died in a fatal assault on an Auckland road on Friday has been named by police.
He was 28-year-old Joshuah Tasi of Beach Haven.
Tasi was fatally injured during an altercation between the occupants of two vehicles at the intersection of Tramway Road and Beach Haven Road on Friday 3 March.
Two teenagers, aged 17 and 14, have been charged with murder following his death.
"Joshuah's family would like to thank all of the people who helped him and provided first aid at the scene," police said in a statement.
"His family requests privacy at this time while they come to terms with the loss of their family member."
Local MP Shanan Halbert says the Beach Haven community has been rocked by the violence.
A karakia was held in Beach Haven tonight.
The gathering was about bringing the community back together, Halbert said.
