Two RNZ shows have been shortlisted in the 2023 New York Festivals Radio Awards.

The first is RNZ Concert recording of Ka Pō Ka Ao by Rob Ruha and the Auckland Philharmonia in the Best Live Sound category.

It was held to celebrate the first Matariki public holiday in June 2022, and can be listened to here.

Ruha's tune '35' won the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll Award in 2022, voted on by members of the Australasian Performing Rights Association.

The other nomination is for The Elephant in the Bedroom, a podcast produced by RNZ's youth offering TAHI.fm, described as a "raw, funny & at times confronting look at the intersection of sex, love and race".

Hosted by James Roque & Chye-Ling Huang, the show has been shortlisted in the Personal Lives Podcast category.

RNZ won three medals at 2022's awards, including silver for Best Live Sound, bronze in the Personal Lives Podcast category and bronze in the Narrative/Documentary Podcast category.

This year's winners will be revealed on 18 April in a virtual ceremony.
