Five people have been injured - two critically - after two vehicles collided in Matamata.
The crash on State Highway 14 was reported about 1.05pm.
Police said initial indications suggested two people were in a critical condition and three people were in a serious condition.
The road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Diversions were in place on Hinuera Road and Hopkins Road.
