A motorcyclist has been critically injured in a crash in Whangārei this afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash on Western Hills Drive about 1.30pm.
The police said initial indications suggest one person has suffered critical injuries.
The road between Kesington Avenue and Selwyn Avenue has reopened after a motorcyclist was critically injured around half past one this afternoon.
St John said it responded with one ambulance, a helicopter and a rapid response unit.
One person was transferred to Northland Base Hospital in critical condition.
