Homicide investigation launched after man dies in 'disorder related incident'

Police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a man in Ōpōtiki last night.

At around 11.05pm on Friday, police were called to a "disorder related incident" on Saint John Street.

A man with serious injuries was found at the scene.

While CPR was attempted, the man died due to the severity of his injuries, police said.

A scene guard remained in place while the scene examination was underway.

Police have asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
