An RNZ digital journalist at the centre of an investigation into pro-Russian edits inserted into international wire stories has resigned.
The staff member has been on leave after it came to light earlier this month that stories about the invasion of Ukraine had been changed.
So far 36 stories have been found to have been incorrectly edited, including ones about Israel, Syria and Taiwan and China.
An RNZ spokesperson said the company initiated an employment process with one person who had now resigned.
RNZ is continuing to audit stories edited by the staff member over the last five years.
An independent panel has begun investigating RNZ's editorial policy and processes.
