Police launch investigation after man found dead at Porirua house

Police are continuing to make enquiries after a man's body was found at a house in Porirua.

Police said they were called to Owhiti Street in Tītahi Bay shortly before 6pm on Friday, and found the man dead at the address.

In a statement, police said they were now working to understand the full circumstances of what occurred.

Cordons were in place overnight while officers worked at the scene and today police are continuing to examine the scene at the property and in surrounding areas.

Police said a post mortem would also take place.

They want to hear from anyone with information or who heard or saw anything unusual in the area on Friday afternoon or evening.
