Auckland road reopens after crash that left pedestrian in serious condition

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Auckland's Mount Albert.

Police were called to the scene on New North Road about 8.25am on Monday.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital in a serious condition, police said.

New North Road between Richardson Road and Hendon Avenue, which was closed due to the crash, has now reopened.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are underway.
