One person is critically injured after a crash involving a car and a pedestrian north-west of Auckland on Monday morning.
The crash was reported to police just before 11am, on the Coatesville-Riverhead Highway, in northwest Auckland.
Road blocks are in place between Riverhead Road and Riverhead Point Drive.
Police have asked drivers to avoid the area or take an alternate route where possible as the road is expected to be closed for some time.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
