Police are responding to reports of a firearm sighting in a central Auckland suburb.
They say cordons were put in place on Judges Bay Rd in Parnell about 9am Sunday.
A resident reported seeing armed police near the Parnell Rose Gardens and hearing gunshots on Judges Bay Rd.
Police said they had investigated the report, and the public was not at risk.
They said enquiries are ongoing.
