The victim of a fatal crash between a motorcycle and quad bike near Auckland's Warkworth was just 9 years old.
Police were called to the scene on a private property on Kaipara Flats Road at 1.35pm on Saturday.
A Westpac rescue helicopter was also sent to the scene, but was not needed.
The 9-year-old boy died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit had examined the scene and police said the circumstances of the crash were still being investigated.
