A man has been arrested in connection to a homicide investigation in Auckland earlier this week.
One person died at He Ana Way in Mount Albert, in a social housing complex, after reports of a disorder incident on Monday.
A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the incident and initially arrested for assault.
Detective Senior Sergeant Lisa Anderson said the 25-year-old man was now being charged with murder.
The homicide investigation remained ongoing, Anderson said.
"While our inquiries are continuing, we can advise we are not currently seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.
"We are continuing to appeal to the public for any information which may assist us with our investigation."
The man was set to appear at Auckland District Court on Wednesday via video-link.
