Power is out to large parts of Auckland, including Henderson Valley, Waitakere, Bethells Beach, Helensville, Parakai, Kumeu, Dairy Flat, Kaukapakapa, Waiheke, Whangaparoa, and Marua Rd in Ellerslie.

Vector says power outages have been caused by severe winds and rain, particularly in the West Coast and north-western areas of the network.

Crews are responding as quickly and as safely as they can, given the current conditions.

It says the fastest way to report a power outage is through the online outage centre.
