A second man has now been charged with murder after the death of a man in Waikato earlier this week.
A 42-year-old man was arrested in Auckland today and will appear in Manukau District Court charged with murder on Saturday, police said.
Earlier, a 32-year-old man was also charged with murder.
The 43-year-old victim was found injured on the side of Hampton Downs Road in Whangamarino.
He later died after being transported to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.
Detective senior sergeant Kristine Clarke said police had arrested a man in the south Auckland suburb of Papakura on Thursday night.
He is expected to appear in the Manukau District Court on Friday.
Police urged anyone who was travelling on Hampton Downs Road between 10pm on Sunday and 1am on Monday to come forward, especially if they have dashcam footage.
