Parliament has been suspended before the Treaty Principles Bill vote went through on Thursday afternoon.
Te Pāti Māori's Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke interrupted the vote on the Treaty Principles Bill's first reading with a haka taken up by members of the opposition and people in the public gallery.
Meanwhile, thousands continue their hīkoi towards Wellington opposing the legislation. A huge crowd earlier stopped traffic in Hamilton as the national hīkoi made its way through the city.
And hours before the debate, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon called the bill "simplistic", but National would abide its agreement to see it to select committee.
