A person pulled unresponsive from a Hawke's Bay River has died.
Emergency services were called to the Wairoa River near Poripori Road about 6.15pm on Wednesday following a water-related incident.
Police said the person pulled from the water was given first aid, but died at the scene.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
