One person has died after a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 25 near the Firth of Thames in Orongo this morning.
Police say the person died at the scene and two others were seriously injured.
The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit investigates and motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
Diversions are in place.
