Some households in rural north Auckland have been without power for more than 24 hours after high winds brought down trees and branches onto power lines.
Repair crews have been working on the problem since yesterday and local MP Chris Penk said homes that have been without electricity the longest are being prioritised.

He said more arborists are needed to clear the fallen trees before power in some areas can be restored, he said in a post on X.
Lines company Vector's online outage map shows a patchwork of regions without power stretching from Auckland City's northern tip near Albany, to rural Te Arai.
The outages come after several parts of West Auckland were left without power yesterday afternoon following strong winds.
