Police have released the name of the woman who died in a car crash near Hicks Bay on Boxing Day.
Mere Kohao Madeline McCabe, 39, died in a single vehicle crash on State Highway 35 on 26 December.
McCabe was from Gisborne, police said.
"Police extend our sympathies to her family and friends."
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash were continuing.
