Police are investigating after a report of shots being fired at a house from a car in the Wellington suburb of Wainuiomata.
They were called to the property on Grovedale Square at 6.30 on Sunday morning.
There were people in the house at the time but nobody was injured.
A car was found abandoned nearby a short time after the incident, and police are looking for those responsible.
