Emergency services were responding to a two-vehicle crash in Palmerston North on Friday night.
Police were called to the Clevely Line and Railway Road intersection around 8:35pm.
Initial indications suggest there were serious injuries, police said.
Motorists were advised to take an alternative route and expect delays.
