Christchurch Airport have confirmed Monday's aviation spill on the tarmac was from an aircraft undergoing maintenance.
A spokesperson said the limited spill in the evening was cleaned up by emergency services, and there was no disruption to flights.
The aircraft has since returned to service after a complete engineering check, the spokesperson said.
