A cyclist has been killed after being involved in a crash with a car shortly before 6pm on Thursday.
The crash happened in Chatham Road in the suburb of Flaxmere in Hastings.
Police confirmed the cyclist died at the scene.
The road remained closed while a scene examination was being carried out.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area or they can expect delays.
