Seven men are due to appear in Wellington District Court on Friday after an armed offenders callout to a property in Makara.
Police descended on the settlement on Thursday afternoon after reports of a person being threatened with a firearm.
Three people were arrested as they left the property in a vehicle, while two others who fled on foot were found nearby and also arrested.
Five men aged 29 to 49 have been charged with burglary and unlawfully possessing a pistol, while a 39-year-old man was facing charges of firing a gun to intimidate.
A 35-year-old man was facing multiple charges, including receiving stolen property and drug and gun possession.
