At least one person has been seriously injured in a crash in Upper Hutt involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Police said the crash happened on Whitemans Road in the suburb of Silverstream at about 9.50am on Monday.
Initial indications suggest there are serious injuries.
The road was blocked on Monday morning and motorists were advised to take an alternate route.
